2026 FORMULA CLASSIC RACE SERIES!
CASC-OR is pleased to announce FORMULA CLASSIC RACE SERIES for 2026. This Series is for those cars meeting the VARAC Formula Classic Regulations as well as newer cars.
The Series will run under VARAC Rules and Regulations, VARAC Drivers Challenge and the CASC-OR Race Regulations. Please review the VARAC Drivers Code of Conduct. Information regarding the VARAC Regulations and Driver Challenge can be found on the VARAC website, under Members tabe at the bottom of the page. The CASC-OR Race Regulations can be found the CASC-OR website under CASC-OR Road Race Rules
The classes are defined by the VARAC Regulations:
- Club Formula Ford (Monoposto Racing compliant)
- Formula 70 (built between 1973 up to the end of 1989)
- Formula 90 (built between 1990 up to the end of 2005)
- Formula Historic (built prior to 1973)
- Formula Junior (Monoposto Racing compliant)
- Historic Formula Vee (Monoposto Racing compliant)
- Historic Formula Ford (Monoposto Racing compliant)
- F1200 (CASC-OR/VARAC compliant)
- Other classes available:
- Formula Libre (any open wheel race car that is slower than 1:26 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, or is not comfortable running in the Formula Prototype Sprints race group, or wants to join the Formula Classic Race Series grid when the Formula Prototype Sprints are not running) - race cars entered in this class are not eligible for the VARAC Driver Championship.
There will be specific "series races" on the following CASC-OR Regional Championship and VARAC race weekends:
- BEMC Spring Trophy: May 9 - 10 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
- VARAC Vintage Grand Prix: June 18 - 21 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
- VARAC Peter Jackson Races: July 11 at Shannonville Motorsports Park
- BARC Open Wheel Invitational: July 25 - 26 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
- OSCC Calabogie Summer Classic: August 22 - 23 at Calabogie Motorsport Park
- Celebration of Motorsport: October 3 - 4 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Event requirements
In order to be scored in the Series you must complete this registration form before May 9, 2026.
And you must be a member of VARAC, your race car must fit into the categories noted above and you must fill out an eligibility form for your race car to be eligible for Series points (these forms are available in the Members folder on the VARAC website). Race cars that have no eligibility forms submitted will not be eligible for the VARAC Drivers Challenge Points championship or the Formula Classic Race Series Championship.
You can join the Formula Classic Race Series if you are a member of another CASC-OR affiliated club, and you do not have to register for the Series to register for individual events. In that case, you will be eligible for event awards but will not be scored in the Formula Classic Race Series points.
You must hold a valid recognized competition license as per the CASC-OR Race Regulations. VMC licences are not acceptable unless prior approval is granted by the CASC-OR Race Director or designate.
You and your car must comply with the 2026 CASC-OR Race Regulations (including the appendices).
